First we want to express our deep appreciation to all of you for your faithful donations and prayers which has allowed us to continue to bring David’s programs in English and Arabic to thousands of people in the Middle East and beyond.
We cannot begin to find the words to thank you enough so we turn to God and ask His blessings upon you.
Meeting with Don McLaughlin
On July 5, 2024 the Seed of Abraham Board (Pastor Shane, Mike, Linda, Lori Gardner and myself Pat) were blessed with a remote conference meeting with Don McLaughlin who is the current President of High Adventure Bible Voice and HAGCM (High Adventure Gospel Communication Ministries).
This meeting which went on for over 90 minutes was anointed by the presence of the Holy Spirit and God’s guidance.
I mentioned at the start of this meeting that two scriptures that come to mind when I think of Don McLaughlin are:
2 Timothy 2:15 — “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”
1 Chronicles 16:24 — “Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.”
Don made the following comment regarding the Seed of Abraham ministry:
“Lord is doing something with and through the Seed of Abraham (Eph 2:10). I was very impressed by your board—they are engaged, focused and I could feel their missions heart. I trust the Lord will give lots of fruit for this incredible labor that you and David have provided these many years, beginning with the Voice of Hope days, and then to those who will pick up the mantle… so many more to reach yet.”
Bible Voice in Africa
Regarding the radio Bible Voice of High Adventure in Africa Don McLaughlin stated:
“Conflict has created an entire ministry opportunity. Most displaced people would have never considered seeking Christian messaging, but as their world crumbles, they now search for help… and many are now within the sound of our broadcasts. We can certainly understand why the enemy is so active. He wants silence. Let’s give him some noise. The power of God’s Word! Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut…” (Rev 3:8).
Coverage of the Seed of Abraham Broadcasts
During the meeting the board asked several important questions. One in particular was a clearer understanding of the coverage of the Seed of Abraham through High Adventure Radio as shown on the maps that were in the last S/A letter.
After the meeting Don asked Heather Patterson administrator for High Adventure Bible Voice for more details. This is what she explained:
Map 1 (ME1): our Middle East SW signal for English programming (where SOA English is heard).
“The High Adventure shortwave antenna is gigantic! It truly is a blessing!!”
Map 2 (ME5): our Arabic SW service to the Middle East (where SOA Arabic is heard).
Rings
The blue ring is what is traditionally referred to as 50db strength, which is the standard that BBC uses as their baseline signal strength required to offer for sale.
The red ring and within is a strength referred to as 60db, which would remind you of a good AM radio signal, more clear, less static, and more easily heard for less expensive receivers.
Software
SW coverage software has historically been the VOA standard (American software) that is still very well used (by USA and UK), but its SW prediction accuracy is not always as high as we would like, to enable us to assure programmers (like SOA) that the signal seen is the signal heard. So we use the German made Wlot software (created by German engineers at the Juelich site where we leased for many years), which is very accurate. Its author (Schall, lower right corner) utilizes two different reading standards. On these maps you see the European friendly version, while the American friendly version shows the 50 and 60 db references.
The Challenge
Each of you have had the faith to support the Seed of Abraham Radio Bible Broadcasts! Not once has anyone asked why do we not hear more from our listeners?
It would be wonderful to have more feedback, however, each of you know that where the Seed broadcasts are being transmitted is in regions where the majority of the people are Muslims or in Israel where evangelism in all forms is restricted.
Don & his wife as mentioned are in the field. They know firsthand the amazing responses that VOH and SOA is having in not only bringing people to the Lord but sustaining these believers so they will be strong and grow in their Christian walk.
Expansion Needed
We need to expand our programming. Please pray for new supporters and that more donations will be given.
(Remember David’s Seed of Abraham Bible teaching is done for listeners where English is their second language. In Israel the majority of the population know, speak and read English.)
God promised to restore the Land of Israel in the Last Days. He also declared He would re-gather the “outcasts of Israel” from all the nations where He scattered them (see Isaiah 11:11).
This aliyah, or return of the Jews to their biblical homeland, is yet another important sign that the Messiah’s return is approaching. Jeremiah 16:14-15 predicted that the mass return of the Jewish People would begin from the north. More than one million Russian speaking Jews are now in the Land of Israel.
Jeremiah also prophesied that many Jewish people would return to Israel from the south. Today there are over 130,000 Ethiopian Jews from the south in the land, and a multitude of Jewish people from all four corners of the world have come to live in Israel.
David’s 538 programs on the book of Luke are clearly heard in English by the Jewish people in Israel and throughout the Middle East. A large number of Arab (Muslim) people who know English or have a translator are listening to God’s voice through the SOA. In addition the Arab people are hearing the programs in English.
Pray that the Seed will have an increase in listeners!
